Skin and Environmental Friendliness

Our neoprene products are skin-friendly and comply with all current European regulations regarding pollution and environmental safety.

New limit values for carcinogenic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) have been in force throughout the EU for rubber and plastic products since the end of 2015.

Accordingly, products containing rubber or plastic must contain at the most 1 mg/kg of one of the eight defined carcinogenic PAHs. Toys and baby articles are regulated even more strictly. PAHs are carcinogenic, can alter the genome and are toxic to reproduction. They are difficult to decompose in the environment and accumulate in organisms. Since 12/27/2015 the new limit values apply EU-wide, the restriction also applies to imported articles. Manufacturers and importers must guarantee compliance with the new limit values.

The GS mark is regulated in the Product Safety Act (ProdSG) and assigned by accredited testing bodies only. it is based on voluntary request by the manufacturer.

The GS mark ("Geprüfte Sicherheit"), which is common in Germany, guarantees that all legal requirements for the product are met. With regard to carcinogenic PAK´s, the requirements for obtaining this seal of approval are even higher than the legal EU limits to be met since 2015.

Our products fulfill all requirements for GS marking in categories 2 and 3.

With our new VLP product group, we even meet the criteria of category 1 ("materials intended to be placed in the mouth or materials in toys with intended and long-term skin contact for longer than 30 seconds").
